Brandon joined the Thomas B. Fordham Institute in 2013. He is the coauthor (with Chester E. Finn, Jr.) of the book Failing our Brightest Kids: The Global Challenge of Educating High-Ability Students. His writing has appeared in places like the Wall Street Journal, the New York PostNewsweekEducation Next, Education WeekNational Review, and AASA's School Administrator Magazine. He holds a J.D. from American University Washington College of Law and a B.A. from the University of Michigan. He has also clerked for an education law firm that advocates for students with special needs and was a senior staff member of the Administrative Law Review. In his spare time, Brandon enjoys reading, watching baseball, and spending time with his wife and his two dogs.
